Open letter to the Commissioner of Police

Dear Sir,

I have been observing the developments in the force since the Tillman Thomas administration appointed you as Commissioner of Police.  It hurts me to see what has been happening and I am going to speak out now because you are not the same persons as when you were deputy commissioner.  I think the politics has gotten to your head.

Mr. Clarkson it pains me to know that I cannot believe anything my Commissioner says to me anymore since I listened you commenting on the night of the election saying that you were in your bed.  Sir you and I know that you were at the home of Mr. Tillman Thomas on the night of the election and not in your bed as you said.  You were referred to as the Prime Minister’s Personal Security Advisor to officers who were there to escort Mr. Thomas to St. George’s.  I will like to hear you deny that publicly.

Mr. Commissioner you must remember that you served in the Police Force before and you had your own special branch and spy team in the force reporting directly to you while you were the Deputy Commissioner.  Who were you reporting to at the time and where in the Police Act does it speak of two Special Branch; one for the Commissioner of Police and one for the Deputy Commissioner of Police.  Is it that you were running your own little Police Force at that time?

Mr. Commissioner, let me take you back to a special operation in Mt Rich which you headed yourself where you asked police officers on that operation to wear mask in their faces and you were also wearing a mask in your face directing the proceedings.  Did the Minister of National Security and the Commissioner of Police know about that operation and the objective of it and who were you were working for?

Mr. Commisioner there are other things that may be more personal that I will not want to publish at this time, but you are definitely pretending to be someone for political reasons and as police officers we will soon be saying enough is enough.  We are standing up for our rights and we will speak out about the injustices in the force.  Please give Police Officers a chance to do our work and stop the politics.   Your actions will only help to increase crime and to those on the outside who are trying to defend you I say to them, only those in the fire feel the heat.  I would prefer to be a civilian again.

Concerned Police Officer
